Social Quality – Building Bridges
The International Association on Social Quality (IASQ) advances a rigorous, evidence-based approach to understanding the conditions under which people can participate meaningfully in society. At the core of our work is the Social Quality Perspective (SQP), a comprehensive framework for analysing the social, economic, political, cultural, and ecological foundations of human well-being.
Developed since the 1990s through sustained collaboration with scientists across the globe, the perspective is a living framework, continuously refined in response to pressing societal challenges, such as growing inequalities, the humanisation of urbanisation, and the long-term sustainability of social and ecological systems. It is now being applied in dialogue with the United Nations on the Second World Summit for Social Development, in post-war recovery planning for Ukraine, and in international debates on urban politics.
IASQ serves as the international platform for this collective work, bridging academic knowledge and real-world societal challenges together with academic partners and policy-oriented institutions. Our publications include the International Journal of Social Quality, Working Papers, Declarations and Manifestos, and Reports by Related Institutions.
